ZETA Long Range Tracking System
Chess undertook full responsibility of the complete mechanical assembly
This interesting and highly specialised long range tracking system is based around a modified heavy duty ZETA platform. Chess undertook full responsibility of the complete mechanical assembly, servo and tracking system incorporating GPS and levelling compensation.
The Zeta system exceeded the customer's performance expectation due to its high torque and smooth backlash free drive system.
This is an example of many specialised systems produced by Chess Dynamics for our customers and sensor partners.
SCORPION II
Scorpion is a 3 axis stabilised platform designed for a major UK/European defence customer and forms part of a specialised Naval Ships defence system.
The success of this project has led to new and exciting future business.
Chess successfully designed, qualified and manufactured the Scorpion system in record time to a stringent performance specification requirement and above all within the initial financial budget. The success of this project has led to new and exciting future business.
RADAR Electro-Optical Director (EOD)
The Radar EOD is a joint venture R & D project in collaboration with 2 major Defence Prime Contractors. This unique Radar EOD combines all the advantages of an all weather target tracking radar with the advantages of an optical tracking system based on the successful IOTA EOD.
The prime contractors chose Chess Dynamics for our expertise in high performance stabilised platforms and radar positioners. This innovative solution will become the tracking control director of choice for modern naval vessels.
ARTHUR
In 2003 Chess was selected by a major Scandinavian Defence Contractor to become a principle partner to develop a number of new generation Radar Turntables and Platforms, one of which is the highly acclaimed ARTHUR vehicle mounted Artillery Hunting Radar System.
This 3 axis platform system can automatically deploy and raise a 350kg radar antenna to operational status within 60 seconds, without the need to level or prepare the support vehicle. This new light weight, compact system has helped our customer win many new export orders, and thus increase market share over their competitors.
IOTA Ultra Long Range Surveillance System
This first of its kind, specially designed and developed, stabilised system has been installed by Chess on a Naval War Ship for evaluation and testing of ultra long range surveillance cameras and sensors. The performance has been outstanding, having exceeded all expectations.

CHEETAH HQT
One of the earliest special projects undertaken by Chess Dynamics, these satellite positioning systems were designed and developed in the late 1990's for a UK Defence Contractor. Over 50 systems have been in active front line operations for over 10 years and they have gained a reputation for outstanding performance and reliability.
Chess has been responsible for In-service Logistics Support (ILS) for many years and to date, has not yet failed to fix and repair any damaged field returns.
