Electro-Optical Director
The OWL Electro-Optical Director (EOD) is based on the successful COBRA platform fitted with an integrated camera head assembly, consisting of an un-cooled reliable thermal imager and colour TV camera with an optional wiper mechanism.
The OWL is ergonomically designed for rugged ground and vehicle deployment ideal for situational awareness, reconnaissance and surveillance applications. The OWL EOD is fully qualified for mounting to armoured wheeled vehicles, fully compliant with all of the latest environmental requirements including EMC to land Class A.
Being backlash free and relatively low fiction it is suitable for gyro stabilisation when required. For tracked vehicle applications the OWL can be upgraded and supplied with an optional ultra-strong lower bearing housing, capable of withstanding severe track induced vibration and shock.
