Our people have been partaking in 5-aside football for approximately 5 years. The team is inclusive of individuals from various departments and disciplines, from Students through to Director level - which is a perfect chance to get to know the wider workforce.
Teamwork is an important part of developing a winning football team, it is also one of Chess’ main company values which is why we fund and support this social activity for our people.
After months of interest for an 11-aside match, the Chess football team had their first competitive game last weekend.
The two captains, Danny Hallis and Matthew Tripp, locked horns in a battle of wits to determine their strategy and structure. After a strong start from both sides, the Hallis Hammers pulled it back took the trophy, winning 3-2. It wasn’t all doom and gloom for Tripp’s Twisters as Chess provided post-match pizzas for the whole team.
