Celebrating Project Manager Day: Recognising the Team at Chess Dynamics

On International Project Manager Day, Chess Dynamics is proud to shine a spotlight on one of our accomplished leaders, Kerry Barnes, while celebrating the contribution of our entire project management team.

Kerry Barnes, now Programme Director at Chess Dynamics, exemplifies dedication, expertise, and professional growth within the defence industry. Since joining Chess in 2016 as a Project Manager, Kerry has brought a wealth of experience and a unique perspective to the business, built on a solid foundation as a qualified engineer. Her technical background enables her to apply sound engineering judgement to strategic decision-making, an asset that continues to strengthen both internal operations and customer engagement.

Kerry’s journey through the business has been marked by a series of well-earned advancements. In 2018, she was promoted to Programme Manager, overseeing the delivery of all projects within the Maritime Sector. Under her guidance, this area of the business has gone from strength to strength, delivering complex programmes with precision and reliability. In 2024, Kerry was appointed Programme Director, where she now leads the wider project delivery strategy across Chess.

But it’s not just about one person. Kerry is part of a dynamic, capable team of Project and Programme Managers who turn ideas into reality. Starting with supporting new opportunities with initial planning and risk management to the delivery and execution of projects and post-project support. Project management plays a central role in ensuring we meet the exacting standards of our defence and security customers around the world.
