NOVEMBER 04, 2021

We are very pleased to announce that in this year’s Cohort Business Excellence Awards, Chess employees won three awards!

The purpose of the awards is to recognise and reward employees and team’s business excellence across the Cohort Group.

Business excellence means working in a way that leads to an excellent outcome for the business such as:

Cohort also recognises achievement that reflects the Cohort Group Values:

The awards won by Chess were as follows;

Aaron Peacock – Bronze Award

Aaron’s positive attitude, commitment & flexibility are immense assets to Chess, when we are under pressure his contribution often ensures that we get the “job done”.

Aaron’s efforts & behaviours exemplify our core values:

Teamwork: Aaron’s flexibility & willingness to support all facets of this business is a huge asset to Chess, the logistics support he has provided on projects often at short notice & in anti-social hours illustrate this.

Excellence: Aaron has a strong sense of ownership & accountability & goes “above & beyond” on a regular basis to support the business.

Jo Alexander – Values Award

Chess has experienced great difficulty in managing utility costs (Gas, Electric, Water) across 11 leased properties with ever increasing costs and requirements for smart/half hourly meters and upgraded power meters.

Jo was tasked with finding a single company that could manage all of our meters and utility suppliers, whilst reducing our overall costs.  This task was completely outside the scope of her normal role, however, she took this on enthusiastically and after much research, searching and meetings with potential suppliers she provided an excellent report on a short list of 3 with a very clearly worded recommendation that gave great confidence that she had asked all of the right questions.

The final result had the added benefit of selecting a supplier that would manage our energy needs on a “Green” basis which would also support our Carbon reduction going forward.

Jacob Axworthy  – High Commended

Jacob is an applied and pro-active FSE who consistently demonstrates commitment to his role and he consistently presents an excellent can-do attitude. Jacob’s performance on recent deployments demonstrated commendable commitment and he performed above and beyond expectations and was a great ambassador for the business.

Many Congratulations to all the winners across the group!
