Chess is seeking to appoint an experienced, full-time, Head of Commercial to support the growth of the business. The ideal candidate will have been involved with the negotiation and administration of contracts for customers such as UK Government Ministry of Defence, US DoD and/or other major defence prime contractors. Chess are looking for a talented and aspiring engineer to join our Electronics team for a year placement. The team works to develop electronics through the entire project lifecycle, ranging from bid activities, through concept and detail design into delivery and verification of the design solution. The role will also include contributing to development of the team’s processes and R&D programme. The student electronics engineer typically works within the team and is likely to develop skills in PCB designs including servo drive technology, developing power system architectures, processor interfacing/communications, system wiring and meeting rigorous requirements such as achieving optimal servo control performance and world leading EMC standards.
